How We Verify Suppliers

Every supplier on pkgoutside registers with a signed-in account, submits company details for review and carries the Verified Supplier mark once that review is complete. This page sets out each step, what the mark means, and where the platform's role ends.

The verification process

  1. 1

    Registration with a real account

Suppliers sign in with an email verification code and submit their company details through Become a Supplier. The record is bound to that account, so a profile is always traceable to the person and address that registered it, and duplicate active records for the same account are rejected.

  2. 2

    The company details we collect

Company name and location, contact person and contact details, main products, established year, employee count, revenue band, stated certifications, company description and logo. These are the details buyers see on the public profile.

  3. 3

    Review and status

Every supplier record carries a review status. Our team reviews the submitted details and can approve or reject a record, with notes kept against it. Only approved suppliers can publish products to the catalogue, appear as active sellers and receive inquiries from buyers.

  4. 4

    The Verified Supplier mark

A profile that has passed review carries the Verified Supplier mark on its public profile. The mark records that the company details behind the profile were submitted and reviewed on the platform, and it links back to this page so the meaning is never hidden.

  5. 5

    Documents come from the manufacturer

Certifications, material declarations, test reports and food-contact statements are supplied by the manufacturer. We publish what the supplier submits and we do not issue these documents ourselves. Ask for the document that covers the exact material grade you are ordering, including the conditions of use, and keep it with your order records.

  6. 6

    Ongoing signals and re-checks

After approval, supplier performance stays visible: buyer reviews and ratings shown with the reviewer name and company, response behaviour on inquiries, and product questions answered in public. If a buyer reports a problem, or a supplier materially changes its company details or the categories it lists, the profile is re-checked.

What verification does not mean

  • It is not a factory audit, and it is not an inspection of a specific production batch.
  • It is not a certification of material performance, tolerances or food-contact suitability.
  • It does not replace samples, your own specification review or a pre-shipment inspection.
  • A reviewed profile can change over time, so confirm the current details and documents before you order.

What we ask buyers to check every time

  • Ask for the test report or declaration for the exact grade, not a similar one.
  • Request a pre-production sample in the final material and finish.
  • Agree the specification, tolerance and inspection routine before the run starts.
  • Compare quotations on total landed cost, not unit price alone.
  • Keep the documents and the approved sample with the order file.

Certificates, declarations and inspection reports are produced by the manufacturer or a test laboratory. Keep them with the specification for the material grade you ordered.

Questions buyers ask

What does the Verified Supplier mark mean?
It means the supplier registered with a signed-in account, submitted company details and passed the platform's review, so the profile and its products are traceable to a reviewed company record. It is a review of the supplier record, not a factory audit.
Does verification guarantee product quality?
No. Verification covers the supplier record. Material performance, tolerances and food-contact suitability depend on the exact grade and the production process, so ask for the documents for that grade and approve a sample before production.
How do I report a problem with a supplier?
Send the order reference and the details through the contact form. Reported issues are used to re-check the supplier profile, and the platform can change the supplier's status when a problem is confirmed.
